Will my player be suspended if he/she plays in the AYHL? | A: No Hockey Calgary Rules "Within Hockey Calgary, a player is not permitted to participate in 'Game Play' on both a Hockey Calgary program team and an 'Unsanctioned' team at the same time. We ask that families make a decision as to which program they would like to play on for this season". Players looking to return to community hockey are free to do so at any time. How will the AYHL select and monitor its coaches? | Please refer to the AYHL Coaching Selection Process for full details. The general selection process is as follows: -

Perform reference checks and Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check. -
Complete interview with AYHL Coach Selection Committee -
Coach monitoring, mentorship, and long-term training is detailed out in the "coaching development" section |
Do I need to volunteer in the AYHL? | A: No The AYHL is designed so that families can watch and participate in the sport of Hockey without the undo stress of volunteering, fundraising, and cash calls. |
Will there be any other fees on top of my registration fees? | The only additional fees would be hotels and meals for any out of town tournament. All other fees are covered your registration fees |
Can I request to be with a sibling or friend? | A: Yes Parents can submit a friend and/or sibling request which the AYHL will try to honor if it doesn't affect league parity |
Will there be goalies and if so, how will that process work? | -
Goalie equipment will be provided for goalies -
Goalies will be rotated as per interest from families. No player will be forced to play goalie. -
Full-time goalies for games will be allowed but not recommend -
Goalies will rotate each shift for Jr. Pipsqueaks. |
