The Calgary Root Beer League (CRBL) was created to provide teens with an opportunity to simply enjoy the game of hockey with their friends in a fun yet competitive setting. CRBL is a game only league designed to maximize fun and minimize the stress that comes with sporadic sporadic scheduling, fundraising, cash calls, volunteering and early morning ice times.

The CRBL aims to provide an organized and formal structure to facilitate game play amongst teens between the ages of 13-17. The CRBL is committed to serving its members through an affordable solution by offering the following tasks:

The CRBL provides teens with a game only option league designed to maximize enjoyment in a safe and competitive setting. The league is governed with an overarching philosophy of "FUN first" and strongly encourages each team to put respect at the forefront of their goals.
Any player/goalie between the ages of 13-17 years old who have previously played divisions 1-6 are eligible to play. As per Hockey Calgary rules you can not play community Hockey and CRBL at the same time
Teams will be organized and structured according to age groups. Teams will be organized to ensure league parity and will consist of a min. of 15 max of 18 on each roster. Players will register based on age and position. Teams will be balanced an structured to ensure league parity. Positions will be forward, defence or goalie only.
CRBL will coordinate colors to ensure there is no duplication during games
The CRBL will schedule 30 games per season for each team. Scores will be kept as well as team standings; however, no individual statistics will be recorded.
The season will operate from September to March.
